Fire damages Lexington County mobile home

A pre-dawn fire Saturday heavily damaged a mobile home near South Congaree, Lexington County Fire Service officials said.

Two persons in the dwelling in the 1200 block of Dogwood Drive escaped unharmed before firefighters arrived, a news release said. The unidentified pair are receiving help with housing and other items from the American Red Cross.

The fire happened at about 4 a.m., with no cause determined yet, officials said. It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, with damage to the mobile home estimated at ,000, the release said.
