It’s a dreary Tuesday, but that’s no excuse for taking a break from Spoleto. There are shows opening today, so put on those rain boots and head out.

* At 2:15 today, check out Conversations With the artistic team behind <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1902741″>Flora, an Opera at the Dock Street Theatre. All are welcome to this free event.

* D.C.’s Word Dance Theatre performs <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1918446″>Revolutionary! Isadora Duncan today at 4 p.m. Tickets are sold out for today’s performance (though we have a few to<a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Spoletobuzz/archives/2010/06/01/free-tickets-revolutionary-isadora-duncan”> give away), so be sure to snap up yours for the rest of the week — there are only three more performances.

* Daniel MacIvor’s <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1904530″>This Is What Happens Next opens at the Memminger at 7 p.m. Think of this solo show as a scary fairy tale with a happy ending. Tickets are , and it runs through June 6.

* <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1942594″>Holy City Homecomin’ is tonight at McCrady’s, with shows at 7 and 10 p.m. The Mark Sterbank Jazz Group features Charlton Singleton, Fred Wesley, Tommy Gill, Herman Burney Jr., Quentin Baxter, and Mark Sterbank. * The first of four <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1929746″>Under the Lights productions is tonight at 8 p.m. Now in its fourth year, it highlights original student-written 10-minute plays. Tickets are , or for students and seniors.

Hot Ticket: One Flora down

Laura Thompson, operations and public relations coordinator at the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs, let us know that the <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1935794″>The Ensemble of St. Clare at Mepkin Abbey performance on Mon. May 31 is close to selling out. Turns out people don’t mind driving almost an hour out of the city to catch some concert music.

And we’ve heard from the Spoleto box office that the second June 6 performance of <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/present-laughter/Event?oid=1902740″>Present Laughter, at 8:30 p.m., does still have seats available. The day’s earlier show is sold out. The opening night of <a href="http://www.Charlestoncitypaper.com/Charleston/Event?oid=1902736″>Flora, this Saturday, is also sold out.
