Not an April Fool’s joke, I promise. I will be guest hosting the Mike Church Show on Sirius satellite radio Thursday, April 1 and Monday, April 5, from 9 AM to 12 PM EST, live from Charleston (Patriot Channel 144 on Sirius and America Right 166 on XM). Like me, Mike is a libertarian-leaning, traditional conservative and I’m more than glad to fill-in in his absence. Give me a call toll free at 1-866-95-PATRIOT and if you don’t subscribe to Sirius (I do, for both Mike’s show and Howard Stern), you can listen online with their free trial.

The Charleston County Parks and Recreation has approved million to create a skatepark at the foot of the Cooper River Bridge, near Meeting and Huger St. “We’re very excited about this one,” says Executive Director Thomas O’Rourke. “We have enough funding for all of the skate features, which should probably take about .5 million alone.” But they’re not going to stop at just concrete bowls, decks, and ramps. They plan to build a park approximately 40,000 square feet in…

President Barack Obama’s announcement today opening much of U.S. waters off the east coast to oil and natural gas drilling has angered some on the left and failed to satisfy others on the right. But exploration off the South Carolina coast is still in doubt. The federal government is expected to spend the next two years evaluating what’s out there, says Hamilton Davis with the Coastal Conservation League, a nonprofit environmental watchdog. “Based on studies that have already been done…
